Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Combine the flour, salt, and baking powder in a medium bowl.

Use a mixer or blender on high speed to beat butter with white and brown sugar in another bowl till the mixture becomes even and fluffy. Add eggs and beat on low speed till smooth.

Add the dry ingredients and beat on low speed scraping the sides of the bowl till the mixture has an even texture.

Add chocolate chips and use a big spoon to mix the content of the bowl. You can also add some nuts at this stage.

Cover a shallow baking tray with parchment paper. Put small 1.5-inch dough balls 2-3 inches apart.

Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes. Let them cool before serving.
