Cut the cucumbers crosswise into halves. Then sprinkle salt all over the cucumber pieces. Let them "rest" for about 25 minutes.

Thinly slice the onion and carrots.

Then mince garlic with ginger.

Grate lime zest. Chop fresh basil.

Drain the cucumbers well to remove all water left.

Toss the cucumbers with all ingredients in a large bowl, adding gochugaru. Let it stand for 2 hours at room temperature.
