Servings

Boiled buckwheat porridge can be served as a side dish to your favorite meat plate or as an independent dish. Ready-made buckwheat porridge has a unique taste and goes well with salads, vegetable dishes, poultry, and fish. Best served 10-15 minutes after cooking. At this point, it will infuse, steam, and turn out crumbly and flavorful. If desired, you can also pour with milk and add sugar or honey to your taste.

Ukrainians adore this porridge because of its benefits and nutrients. One of the elements is iron. In addition, it is rich in potassium, calcium, and phosphorus. They are responsible for the skeletal system in the body. Iodine and zinc are responsible for the development and metabolism, and fluoride - is for teeth. B vitamins - for the beauty and health of skin, nails, and hair. In terms of protein content, buckwheat is ahead of all other cereals. So It's a dream dish for those who keep a healthy diet!

Essential ingredients

  • Buckwheat

    210 g (1 cup)

  • Water

How to make

  • 1

Sort the cereal, pouring it into small portions on a saucer. We remove unpeeled grains, skins, and other debris.

  • 2

Take a small saucepan, and pour buckwheat into it. Rinse with tap water to remove dust and debris. Carefully drain the remaining liquid, holding the grits with your hands or using a sieve.

  • 3

Pour buckwheat with water at the rate of 2 cups of water per 1 cup of buckwheat. If we cook buckwheat in a saucepan without a lid, add a little more water, considering boiling (about 1/5 cup). Put the pot on the stove and bring it to a boil.

  • 4

After boiling, reduce the heat to a minimum, salt and mix the cereal, and cover the pan with a lid. Boil buckwheat for 8-10 minutes over low heat until water is absorbed. Please note that the time may vary depending on the volume of cereals and dishes we cook. During cooking, it is advisable to stir the buckwheat a couple of times so that it boils evenly.

  • 5

When almost all the water is absorbed, turn off the stove and add butter to the buckwheat. If the buckwheat seems wet, it's okay. It will stand and be absorbed.

  • 6

Thoroughly stir our porridge and cover it with a lid. Let it steam a little for 10-15 minutes.

  • 7

Serve with sprinkled parsley or pieces of your favorite cheese.

Weight Loss Tips

  • Weight your grains or pasta before cooking: In this case, it's much easier to count how many calories you've got from your porridge.

  • Cook grains in water to ensure you don't add calories to your porridge by using milk or broth.

  • Chew your food more thoroughly. Research shows that it can reduce calorie intake at mealtimes.
